How to Build Your 2020 Vision with Les Brown

Updated: Mar 30, 2020

What a way to wrap up the year and move into 2020! Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend a vision board party where Les Brown inspired us far beyond the few minutes that he intended to speak. If you don't already know, I am a HUGE Les Brown fan!!

For those of you that are also Les Brown lovers the video is attached in FaceBook and at the bottom of this post. The sound isn’t great on this video and I’m working to improve my FB Live skills (LOL). So below, I summarize points from his presentation and also link (at the bottom) to resources he referenced throughout his presentation.

I hope you enjoy…. there is a gem for each of you in Mr. Brown’s presentation.

20:25 – Develop perpetual optimism

21:50 – Establish collaborative achievement-driven supportive relationships

23:09 – Build relationship capital, people who will hold you accountable and bring value to you

23:42 – For 2020, spend time thinking about, “who should I count on, and who should I count out”

25:45 – Don’t make somebody a priority who’s made you an option

26:43 – Don’t complain about the people who are sucking the life out of you and you’re providing the straw

28:57 – OQP, Only Quality People

29:56 – Average is over

30:44 – By the yard it’s hard, but inch by inch, anything’s a cinch

32:05 – Do what you know, not what you feel

35:05 – You will fail your way to success

37:09 – I will persist until I succeed

39:22 – There’s no accident that you’re in here… because there is something in you that says, “I can do more”

40:22 – Bet on you!

41:24 – Someone’s opinion of you does not have to become your reality

43:08 – Develop your communication skills because once you open your mouth, you tell the world who you are

43:35 – Knowledge is the new currency

45:55 – I asked Mr. Brown what his biggest challenge/failure was, and he replied, “Believing that I can do what I’m doing now”
